Key Properties and Benefits of EPDM

EPDM is an M-class synthetic rubber that offers superior weatherability, including excellent resistance to sunlight, ozone, UV exposure, and heat aging. Additionally, it is stable in environments where it is exposed to hot water, steam, and dilute acids or alkalis.

Furthermore, EPDM can withstand exposure to extreme temperatures, as it remains flexible at low temperatures and can withstand a temperature range of approximately –40°F to +300°F, and up to +350°F with special curing. It also has high tensile and tear strength as well as good abrasion resistance, meaning it still offers a long service life under wear and tear. However, EPDM is not recommended for petroleum oils or certain solvents as it has poor hydrocarbon resistance.
